Country-rock sound
The ROCKING HORSE sound is built on the guitars and voices of Tony, Clive and Barry ... they describe their sound as three guitars and the truth, words borrowed from legendary songwriter Harlan Howard's poetic definition of country music. Those who know the band know the sound - jangling acoustic guitars, three part vocal harmonies and foot-tapping country-rock rhythms. The legendary ROCKING HORSE reputation is born of the fact that the three founder members Tony, Clive and Barry have remained faithful to their signature sound over the years.
Trailblazers
Tony and Clive have been trailblazers ... contributing towards a growing songwriting culture in the Cape. The many popular artists who have recorded Ridgway compositions and the current crop of young Cape performers who have roots in the Rocking Horse musical family-tree, have kept the ROCKING HORSE legacy alive. The band's legendary reputation is built on exceptional songwriting, producing and recording skills ... and authentic musicianship.
